Paper Ban Photography

Though I want to just jump ahead with this post by showing you the end result (because I’m just so happy with how the photos turned out), I feel like I need to write a little preface first. Recently, I felt like I was in a bit of a rut, and I couldn’t figure out why. Paper Ban Photography was going in a path that I wanted it to go, but in the back of my heart, something was missing. I had gotten too comfortable at my current position and wasn’t doing anything to better improve myself as a photographer.

A while ago, in the middle of the night, I had contacted fashion blogger Nicole Chau to see if she wanted to do a collaboration with me for a fashion shoot – something that’s out of my element. I woke up to find a pleasant response saying she would love to do one. So after some back and forth email, we agreed to meet up earlier today at the L.A. Arboretum.

Never having met Nicole, it was such a pleasant surprise to find out how sweet she is! She dressed so gorgeously and was such a trooper with all the poses. You can find her fashion blog at: bffbync.blogspot.com.

Going back, though, I’m going to try and do a monthly personal-work shoot in the style of a magazine just  to keep the creativity going. Nicole and I already have a few ideas on future shoots and I can’t wait for them!
